About Winter Park
Winter Park is about 11 minutes from College Park, by Princeton Street and Orange Avenue. In Olde Winter Park the brick streets are small and winding, under a canopy of old southern live oak and camphor trees.
Lake Osceola and Lake Virginia are joined by a Venetian canal, and Kraft Azalea Park sits on Lake Maitland. Hannibal Square, Virginia Heights and Windsong are part of the mix. About two in three homes are owner-occupied, and the median home dates to the mid-1970s.

Yards in Winter Park
What Winter Park yards need.
Under that canopy the grass matters. Floratam St. Augustine needs about 6 hours of sun and handles shade worse than other St. Augustine types. Zoysia and some St. Augustine types cope better; bahia is only fair. We read the light before we suggest sod.
Lakefront lots slope to the water, so the low side soaks while the high side dries unless zones are split. Some lakefront systems draw from the lake through a pump, which adds a pump and a line out to the water to what can fail.

Google review
In a customer’s own words.
“We contacted college park sprinlkers after we had a huge camfor tree removed so that he could install 2 magnolia trees, re-sod grass and fix sprinkler system . Marcus and the crew got everything done correct and to the point, with good pricing.”
College Park Sprinklers Orlando is rated 4.9 on Google across 211 reviews. Read them on Google.
Why is my grass thin under the oaks in Winter Park?
Often it is light, not water. Floratam St. Augustine needs about 6 hours of sun a day. We check how much sun the spot gets, then suggest a shade-tolerant grass or a mulched bed instead of more sod that will struggle.
Can you look at a lakefront irrigation system in Winter Park?
We install and repair irrigation for residential and commercial systems, and do well pump work for well-fed ones. If yours draws from a lake, call (407) 969-8741 and describe the setup so Marcus can say what a visit would cover.
What about the sprinklers after a big camphor or oak comes down?
Heads and pipe near the roots can get cut or buried, and a shaded lawn is suddenly in full sun, which changes the sod and the watering. David B’s review describes that kind of job: new trees, new sod, sprinkler system fixed.
