About Maitland
Maitland is about 13 minutes from College Park, by way of I-4 and Lee Road. The city has 21 lakes, and Lake Maitland alone is 451 acres. Lake Lily Park, Lake Sybelia Shores and The Oaks at Lake Catherine are named for the water.
The original village has streets lined with large oaks planted by early town aldermen. The Lake Lily and Lake Catherine corridor is historic, with old houses still standing and lived in. Druid Hills and Dommerich Estates are other neighborhoods in town.

Yards in Maitland
What Maitland yards need.
Maitland is newer than its oak-lined center suggests: the median home was built in the mid-1990s, and fewer than half of homes are owner-occupied. A system from that era is old enough that heads, valves and wiring are worth a look.
Old oaks mean roots and shade. Heads near big trunks often get moved, and the shaded side may want zoysia or a St. Augustine that handles shade better than Floratam. Near a lake, zones are split so the low side is not soaked.

Is Maitland on the same watering schedule as Orlando?
Both are in Orange County, and lawns there follow the St. Johns River Water Management District schedule. A system should be set to it. See sjrwmd.com/wateringrestrictions for any active water-shortage order before you change a timer.
Do you work on lake-lot yards in Maitland?
Yes. On a lot that drops toward a lake, we look at the slope first and split the zones so the low side is not watered like the high side. Call (407) 969-8741 to set a visit.
